Nice to meet you!

My name is Meghan Saboori and I’m running for the West Ada School Board Trustee position in Zone 1.

My husband and I have lived in Idaho for over 11 years and have raised our three boys here in the West Ada School District. We currently have a 6th grader at Sawtooth, a 5th grader and 2nd grader at Hunter.  My education career began at California State University, Long Beach where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Film and Electronic Arts with an emphasis in Media and Marketing. I went on to earn several licenses including cosmetology, mortgage loan originating and real estate. All of these educational experiences have helped me create and maintain several successful business ventures over the years.

We came to Idaho like so many who seek a safe place to raise a family with like-minded people who put strong, family values at the forefront of priority. We absolutely love this community and have watched the exponential growth over the years. The events in the World over the last 18 months have forced me to look at my role in this community and in our school district and see how I can be of most impact to our students, teachers, parents, guardians and tax-paying residents. I know that I can help build trust back into the School Board with fresh ideas, excellent budget maximization skills and the fundamental core values that make us proud to be Idahoans.

Over the last 11 years, I have served this community both professionally and philanthropically.

I am an active Realtor with Boise Premier Real Estate – Yes, I am partly to blame for the exponential growth of our State!

For two years, I worked on the planning committee as Lead Chairperson for Meridian Relay for Life, the American Cancer Society’s largest annual community fundraiser.

I helped lead a group fitness event called “World’s Biggest Bootcamp” benefitting the Women’s and Children’s Alliance.

On a broader scale, I have combined my passion for running and charity and raised thousands of dollars for Providence Cancer Centers (Hood to Coast 200-mile Relay race) and Boston Children’s Hospital (Boston Marathon).

However, my most notable and rewarding work has been in the schools over the last 6 years. Since my oldest son was in Kindergarten, I have volunteered in the classroom several days a week and helped the PTA with events. The last two years, I was PTA President at Hunter Elementary. I started a positive reinforcement program for students to earn “Boomer Bucks” for going above and beyond in the classroom and community which they get to spend quarterly at our School Store. This program earned me the Idaho PTA “Volunteer of the Year” award for the 2019-2020 school year. Last year, I also was a Substitute Teacher for West Ada to help keep our schools open while we navigated our way through the ever-evolving dynamics of the pandemic. I was in the thick of it all with our kids and teachers.

With my leadership and determination

I plan to earn the confidence and trust in the School Board again. I will listen to our patrons, students and teachers and work together for our common goal of educational excellence for our kids. I will do my very best to connect with as many of you as possible and hear your ideas and concerns, representing your family on the West Ada School Board.

I truly look forward to working with you further to help maximize the potential of the future for West Ada!
